School-based Therapist – The Beacon Learning Center
Function: | |||||
The School-based Therapist provides direct clinical services within The Beacon Learning Center, a short-term, intensive behavioral health and educational program serving elementary-aged students with moderate to severe behavioral health needs. This role delivers trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions within a structured therapeutic school environment and supports students in stabilizing symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and successfully transitioning back to their school setting. |

Education: | A Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a clinical field, i.e., social work, counseling, or psychology, is required. | ||||
Experience: | Supervisory experience is preferred. Experience in a community-based program is preferred. Experience in addressing trauma and promoting the recovery of children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and adults with serious mental illness (SMI) is preferred. Experience providing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services in behavioral health or related settings is preferred. | ||||
Specific Skills and requirements: | Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurability. Must have excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Technical requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any other applications the organization or regulatory agencies uses. Ability to understand and relate to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds. Ability to read, write, and converse in English. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. Successful completion of a background screening. Successful completion of a TB skin test or proof of a negative chest x-ray or other documentation. | ||||
Specialized Licenses or training: | Licensed or licensure eligible under the appropriate board. Maintain 40 hours of Annual Training through Relias or other appropriate sources. Maintain at least the minimum training for licensure. Maintain SCM training certification. Attend all assigned training specific to job assignment. | ||||

The starting pay for this position is $75,000 annually.
