School-Based Services Clinical Director

Function:

Organizational duties & responsibilities:

1. The primary responsibility of all staff is to ensure the safety and well-being of all Ramey-Estep/Re-group (RE) clients.
2. Supports the mission, vision, and values of RE.  Facilitates and adheres to the agency’s code of ethics, policies, and procedures.
3. Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies.
4. Supports and facilitates positive interaction with clients and staff by exhibiting both in-office and in-public when carrying out job duties: individual maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and awareness and sensitivity to cultural and other differences in clients and staff.
5. Exhibits effective communication skills, including proper use of agency communication systems.
6. Participates in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency.
7. Effectively manages financial and physical resources to achieve the mission of RE.
8. Reports incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving clients to the appropriate authorities and RE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide clinical leadership and oversight of all school-based behavioral health services.
2. Ensure compliance with CCBHC, Medicaid, Medicare, and Kentucky regulatory requirements, as well as grants and contracts.
3. Oversee assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, service delivery, and discharge planning in school settings.
4. Supervise and support clinical supervisors and school-based clinicians through regular supervision, coaching, and performance management.
5. Ensure trauma-informed, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate practices are implemented consistently.
6. Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
7. Ensures all necessary records are maintained and kept confidential.
8. Provide direct clinical oversight of clients served by therapists under their supervision, including review of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and clinical decision-making to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective care.
9. Participate in the OP Quality Workgroup for continuous quality improvement initiatives.
10. Analyze data related to access, utilization, outcomes, and satisfaction; implement improvement strategies as needed.
11. Collaborate with school districts, administrators, and staff to coordinate services and address student needs.
12. Serve as primary clinical liaison with schools and community partners.
13. Support crisis response, safety planning, and coordination of emergency services in school settings as well as assisting with after-hours and weekends on-call schedule.
14. Oversee referrals, intakes, and service assignment in collaboration with referral management and supervisors.
15. Ensure staff are trained in CCBHC requirements, school-based policies, and evidence-based practices.
16. Participate in grant, contract, and reporting requirements related to school-based services, if applicable.
17. Support workforce development, recruitment, and retention of school-based clinicians.
18. Participate in agency leadership, strategic planning, and policy development.
19. Promote culturally responsive, equitable, and family-centered care.
20. Ensures school MOU’s/MOA’s are established and updated annually with local school districts to allow RE to provide school-based services.
21. Schedule and facilitate Mental Health Meetings with local schools monthly, or at the discretion of the school.
22. Develop, implement, and evaluate school-based programming and service models to address student and school-identified needs, including prevention, early intervention, crisis response, and ongoing therapeutic services.
23. Develop and distribute school-based service satisfaction surveys, interpret feedback to assess areas of improvement, and develop a plan with agency leadership to improve service array.
24. Promotes a positive view of RE to the public and outside agencies.
25. Provides individual, group, collateral, and family treatment, as appropriate, to clients based on clinical issues and treatment needs.
26. Maintains current therapy notes, treatment reports, and other written documentation and correspondence according to agency policy and within appropriate time frames.
27. Attends and participates in all therapist/clinical meetings and assists others in developing appropriate intervention techniques, case consultations, and providing clinical service updates.
28. Maintains current licensure and stays within ethical guidelines provided by your licensure board.
29. Participates in supervision and consultation regularly.
30. Collaborates effectively with other assigned RE services and community partners.

33. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working conditions/environment:

1. The shift is generally Monday – Friday, but hours will vary based on the client's needs.
2. Holidays, weekends, and extra hours may be required.
3. Intense, unpredictable population with the possibility of verbal and physical aggression.
4. A fast-paced environment with the need for quick decisions to deal with any crisis that may arise.
5. Traveling throughout the week to meet with clients, families, and/or community partners in home and/or school settings as well as out-of-town meetings. 
6. Primary work setting is within the assigned program. OP Clinical Services Coordinators will be in community settings, including the client's home and school.
